Background
During my PhD program at the University of Minnesota I received comprehensive training in talk therapies and completed extensive training experiences in individual and couples counseling, crisis counseling, college counseling, career counseling, and industrial/organizational counseling.
Over the 10+ years since that time I have trained in numerous mind/body philosophies and techniques, clinical hypnosis, EMDR, and mindfulness. I have taught at the University of Minnesota, St. Catherine University, and Normandale Community College, and served as Technical Reviewer for an “Everything”
book on anxiety. I also enjoy my time with my two children, husband, family, and friends, dancing, and reading, And I completed a brown belt in Tae Kwon
Do, my certification in scuba diving, and classes in filmmaking.
Through these experiences I have become intimately familiar with the relationship between mind and body and regularly recommend mind/body practices as part of therapy or in addition to our work together.
